How does one pack for five weeks of travel through some of the most remote locations on earth? Excellent question. Alas the days of traveling with large steamer trunks belongs to a bygone era. Therefore, like many experienced travelers we have opted for durable lightweight clothing that is easy to wash. We’ve chosen to pack a few changes of clothing that mix and match, something nice to wear, one pair of “five finger” shoes and that’s it. About half the weight and volume of our luggage is taken by photographic equipment and electronic devices. Right now we’re in LAX having a quick lunch then it’ll be time to settle into the wait for our evening flight to Istanbul.
